I have been to different specialists before and NO ONE invests the energy with you as he does. You never feel that he is in hurry. In the event that you need to look awesome and like yourself, make a meeting with Dentist East Meadow and you won't be disappointed. Good dentist. I came last year for work. He did same day dentures and it was perfect. Highly recommend Doctor Rakesh and his assistant Lisa was very helpful. They went above and beyond to help with me with my tooth problem. MR. D Lall Excellent practice! Very professional, warm and truly focused on the patient, their comfort and their care. Dr. Wrigley is awesome! I love Dr. Khilwani! He is so nice, I never wait more than 15 minutes, he has late hours and his staff is so sweet. The ONLY issue I have is that they don't send out reminders or call or anything when I'm due for a cleaning. It may just be that I'm used to it from my childhood dentist and liked that the office did that. Either way, I really don't mind going there and I hate the dentist typically.

Medical Benefits of Braces

During our teenage years many of us dread the day when our dentist tells us we need to get braces. Despite the initial embarrassment we might feel with braces, eventually, when we realize the overall benefit they will for our smile and improving our overall facial aesthetic, it all seems to be worth it. Even in popular culture, we are often shown an image of a late blooming teen, with braces and thick-rimmed glasses, only to grow into the beauty queens a few years later. Clearly, we are all understand of the immense cosmetic benefits of braces, and we realize that the beautiful smile to come, is completely worth a few years of discomfort and possible embarrassment. While the aesthetic benefits are clear, according to Dr. Rakesh Khilwani, considered the best dentist Jamaica Queens has to offer, there are actually a number of vital medical benefits to getting braces, and they drastically outweigh whatever cosmetic benefit you can glean. Throughout his many years in the field, Dr. Khilwani has advised countless patients to consider braces as a means of correction, and often, he states vital medical correction as the main reason as opposed to an improved smile. He has saved some patients from terrible dental conditions, that may have otherwise hampered their oral health for years to come – a main reason why he is thought to be the best dentist Jamaica Queens patients trust for dental health. Learn more about the medical benefits of braces below.

Some of the main medical benefits of braces include:

· An Improved “Bite”

The main purpose of braces is to essentially straighten out our crooked teeth – one important part of this is correcting a naturally misaligned bite. The bite is the dental term for how our upper and lower teeth fit together or overlap. When there are gaps in our bite, it can cause issues with out chewing, and cause our teeth to shift further and further apart or even closer together, causing crowding.

· Digestive Health

This goes hand in hand with the first benefit, as one of the biggest results of a misaligned bite, is the inability to properly chew our food. According to Dr. Khilwani, the best dentist Jamaica Queens has to offer, when we don’t chew our food properly, this can lead to issues with our stomach’s ability to properly digest and breakdown the nutrients from the foods we eat. This can also cause us to swallow larger pieces of food than we are normally accustomed to.

· Jaw Health

The jaw acts as a means of maintaining our entire oral structure – from the teeth to the gums. Considering this, when our teeth become misaligned or overcrowded it can cause the jaw to become misaligned as well. When this occurs, it can cause a variety of other issues like speech problems, poor breathing, inner ear issues, sinus problems, migraine headaches and a whole lot more!

· Hygiene

One of the worst things about having misaligned or crowded teeth is that they are often harder to clean, and can create crevices in which dirt, debris, food particles and errant bacteria can accumulate easily. When this happens, according to Dr. Khilwani, the best dentist Jamaica Queens has in practice, patients often develop terrible oral infections, tooth decay, and gum disease problems.
